We have received a request from IMPOWER to speak with a group of parents and carers about Buckinghamshire SEND services.
IMPOWER has been contracted to work with Buckinghamshire County Council to help further develop the Council’s SEND improvement plans and to start work with a range of partners, including parents and carers, to develop a truly inclusive vision for the future. IMPOWER have assured us that their report and recommendations will be available once their work is concluded.
The first step which we let you know about was a survey of parents which you may have completed. This was aimed at giving an anonymous, independent sense of your strength of opinion in relation to particular issues. However, IMPOWER is keen to have more in-depth conversations to dig beneath the data. They are interested in speaking to parents and carers with children with a range of needs and strengths, a range of ages, in both mainstream and specialist education and at different stages in their SEND journey. These conversations will also be anonymous and shared with IMPOWER not the SEND team.
Please join us on Thursday 7th November starting at 8pm (refreshments available from 7.30pm) in the Holiday Inn Aylesbury, New Road, Weston Turville, HP22 5QT to offer your thoughts both on the data collected to date and also your own journeys, so these can influence the work of the SEND team going forward.
There is no need to book but if you are thinking of coming, please drop us an email to admin@factbucks.org.uk so we can make sure there are enough chairs!
