Sharing experiences, shaping support, keeping your voice at the centre

FACT Bucks is inviting families and young people with experience of Elective Home Education (EHE) and Education Other Than In School (EOTIS) to take part in a series of listening workshops.

These sessions are an opportunity to:

  • Share your experiences of EHE or EOTIS
  • Tell us what has worked well and what could be improved
  • Help shape how services and information are developed and shared
  • Ensure family and young person voice remains central to future work

These sessions are focused on listening and learning — they are not assessments or case discussions.

Who should attend?

  • Parents and/or carers with experience of EHE or EOTIS
  • Children and young people with lived experience
  • Families currently or previously involved with services

Everyone is very welcome.

In-person listening workshops

(Young people can attend alongside parents/carers or take part in a separate supported space)

We are holding three in-person sessions across the county:

  • Monday 29 June, 10:00–12:00 – Princes Risborough Family Centre
  • Tuesday 30 June, 10:00–12:00 – Beaconsfield Family Centre
  • Wednesday 8 July, 10:00–12:00 – Southcourt Family Centre, Aylesbury

Families and young people are welcome to attend together.
Young people will have the option to join a separate, facilitated space during the session designed to feel safe and supportive. Feedback will be gathered respectfully and anonymously.

Alternative ways to share your views

If you would prefer, you can:

  • Share feedback via email
  • Request a 1:1 telephone or video conversation

Please contact: engageeducation@buckinghamshire.gov.uk

What will happen with what you tell us?

Your feedback will help us to:

  • Better understand real experiences of EHE and EOTIS
  • Improve how services work together
  • Shape information, guidance and support
  • Identify what needs to change, and what families value and want to see protected

We are committed to feeding back what we hear and what happens next — this is part of an ongoing conversation, not a one-off activity.

Accessibility and support

We want everyone to feel able to participate. Please let us know if you need:

  • A quiet space or breaks
  • Support with communication or sensory needs
  • Any adjustments to help you or your child take part
