Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) launched a consultation last week on changes to the county Home to School Transport Policy. These proposed changes include the introduction of a charge for most home to school transport for young people aged between 16 and 19 with an EHC plan. This will be a matter of significant concern not only for parents of children already in that age bracket, but also for all families of children at secondary special schools who are looking forward to their post 16 options. The potential sums involved are considerable.

We have held a forum in Chesham and another will be held in Buckingham at the end of the month.

Parents with questions or concerns about these changes are invited to join us in Buckingham. BCC representatives have also been invited. We would like to hear from you and ensure that your feedback is incorporated in the final recommendations about the charging structure and how this could be implemented.
