Young People’s Plan

The DfE (Department for Education) is consulting Children & Young People on a new Code of Practice and replacing SEN statements with 0 to 25 Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). Unfortunately the consultation period for this very important survey is short.

It is vital that parents/carers consider the impact on their 16 – 25 year olds. Very often, policy is framed so that it is only the young person's view (YP) that is taken, to the exclusion of their family.

This set of words has been refined, via previous consultation with national parent groups, and has resulted in significant changes. The more individual the input they receive, the better. This will be so much more effective than a group response.

So please, read carefully, think, and respond to ensure that our Young People in Bucks will have their voices heard.
