Children and Young People’s Plan

BCC's New Draft Plan and Consultation

In autumn last year FACT organised two workshops for parents and carers to come along to meet Ed Mallam and Liz Smith of BCC and have their say on both the Local Offer and the Children and Young People's Plan 2014-2018. Our views have now been incorporated, resulting in this new draft which BCC have opened for consultation.

This consultation is open to children, young people, parents, carers and those that work with them on an individual basis and FACT, together with other organisations, has been asked to respond on behalf of their groups which we will be doing. The consultation runs from 16th January to 15th February 2014.

Below is the link to the draft plan and Consultation, so please take time to have a read and respond with your comments as an individual.

CYP Consultation on the Code of Practice SEN Statements - Children's voice

The DfE (Department for Education) is consulting Children & Young People on a new Code of Practice and replacing SEN statements with 0 to 25 Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). Unfortunately the consultation period for this very important survey is short.

It is vital that parents/carers consider the impact on their 16 – 25 year olds. Very often, policy is framed so that it is only the young person's view (YP) that is taken, to the exclusion of their family.

Buckinghamshire Children and Young People's Plan for 2014-17

The Children and Young People's Partnership are developing the new Buckinghamshire Children and Young People's Plan for 2014-17.

The Plan will set out the priorities for work with children, young people and families and will be the strategic driver for all partners.

We are very keen to get the input of parents and carers as we develop the plan so their views can have a real influence over the priorities being set.

This will be a great opportunity for you to have your say as the Plan is being developed before it goes for formal consultation in January 2014.
